CASA DE LA PALMERA

The Spanish Immersion  School campus is close to Playa Punta Zicatela neighborhood, a few blocks from the beach and within easy walking distance of the commercial zone.

Our newly-constructed campus has nine bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and comfortable communal spaces: a kitchen, a terrace, a pool and a patio. 
You can enjoy your classes in the fresh air and sunshine on our terrace, or take your class on the beach!
With beautiful views of the breaking waves, you will be immersed in a fun, collaborative environment where you can play language games, practice conversation, and learn from different teachers and students.

Communal Area and Pool

Our main communal space is ideal for relaxing, studying and meeting other students. There is a range of different seating areas and from here you can access our beautiful pool area!

Rooftop Terrace

As well as our main communal area you can also choose to spend your time on the terrace surrounded by palm trees and 360 views of the area including the beach!

Your Beach Home

Our bright, modern rooms are fully furnished with comfortable either queen size or double beds, clothing storage and a fridge. Each room has its own private bathroom as well as a fan and air conditioning.

THE TOWN

Puerto Escondido is a Pacific port town and coastal gem best known by surfers from all over the world for its first class “break.”
 It’s easily reachable from Oaxaca City by a short flight or a longer but scenic mini-bus ride. 
​

The town offers a laid-back yet buzzing local scene for shopping, dining and partying—or just taking in daily life. 
Gastronomic options include an abundance of fresh and delicious seafood dishes as well as international cuisines.


With something for everyone, no wonder it’s been named a must-visit spot by the New York Times.  And the bonus: it’s affordable, too!

THE CLIMATE

Puerto Escondido is almost always warm and sunny, with temperatures typically between a low of 18℃/64℉ and a high of 45℃/113℉ and averaging 30℃/86℉.
 
Although it’s located in the tropics, the coastline is mainly arid making it a comfortable place to stay. 
The rainy season is generally July to October, with September typically being the rainiest month, but it doesn’t usually rain too much or too often.
Beyond the alluring surf and sand of its many beaches, the town is surrounded with a beautiful tropical landscape for exploring.
There is an extensive menu of outdoor activities and excursions from which to choose.

ACTIVITIES

All of our students are invited to a free welcome event and enjoy a varied calendar of social and leisure activities throughout their stay. 
After class you can head directly to surf, swim or lounge at one of the many nearby restaurants.
And when the sun goes down, the action continues in some of the world's best nightclubs and bars. You will be right in the heart of it all!

Put your new language knowledge into action and show off your ​singing skills with Spanish karaoke.

Outdoor movies

More dive-in than drive-in, enjoy a beachside movie with fellow students outdoors at Soundscape.

Sports

You don’t have to be a surfer to stay active. From hiking to cycling to beach volleyball, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.
