Vives Verde is a private property of 1600 square meters where you can find three different areas: a botanical garden, Kundalini Yoga room and an antiques exhibition patio. The garden´s landscaping specialist and owner wants to sensitize visitors to the importance of our environment. It has more than 200 diverse species of plants, the majority of which are endemic to Oaxaca, and it´s designed strategically with pre-hispanic geometric shapes. Our next stop will be San Antonio Arrazola to witness the making of Alebrijes. The process begins with the Copal tree which provides the wood for making alebrijes as well as incense. The wood is carved according to fantastic designs of animals and plants and finally they are colorfully painted, a sacred Oaxacan tradition. |
